Terms and Conditions

Promoter
The promoter of the competition is Ackermans, a division of Pepkor Trading (Pty) Ltd (“the Promoter”).

Competition Name
The name of the competition is the “Ackermans Character Customer Survey Competition” (“the Competition”).

Competition Period
The Competition will run from 23 October 2026 to 28 October 2026, both days inclusive (“the Competition Period”).

Acceptance of Terms and Conditions
By entering the Competition and/or accepting a prize, if selected as a winner, participants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Prize
The prize consists of one (1) of ten (10) Ackermans virtual vouchers valued at R100 each (“the Prize”).

Eligibility
The Competition is open to participants residing within the Republic of South Africa.
The following persons are not eligible to participate:
a. Directors, members, partners, employees or agents of the Promoter, its affiliates, divisions or subsidiaries, or any other person who supplies goods or services in connection with the Competition.
b. The spouses, life partners, parents, children, siblings, immediate family members, business partners or associates of any of the persons listed above.

How to Enter
To enter the Competition and stand a chance to win, participants must complete the customer survey published on Facebook.

Entry Requirements
Entry into the Competition is free. Participants may enter only once during the Competition Period, and each entrant is eligible to win only one (1) prize.

Disqualification
Ackermans reserves the right to disqualify any participant who enters using false information or through robotic, automated or similar means.

Prize Conditions
Prizes are not transferable and may not be exchanged for cash.

Notification of Winners and Prize Delivery
The prizes will be sent to the winners via SMS using the contact numbers provided when completing the survey.

Winner Selection
The draw will take place on 30 October 2026. Winners will be selected randomly from all valid entries received through the designated entry channel.

Contacting and Announcing Winners
Winners will be contacted between 10:00 and 15:00 on the day of the draw to arrange prize delivery.
Winners will be announced on the date of the draw. If a winner cannot be reached within two (2) days of the draw date, an alternative winner will be selected.

Publicity
Winners consent to Ackermans and its authorised agents using their names for publicity purposes, unless they decline such use.

Amendments, Suspension or Cancellation
Ackermans reserves the right to vary, suspend, postpone or terminate the Competition, any prize or any aspect thereof at any time and without notice. In such circumstances, participants waive any rights or expectations they may have against Ackermans and acknowledge that they will have no recourse or claim of any nature against Ackermans.

Privacy and Security of Personal Information
The privacy of participants is important to Ackermans and the Pepkor group of companies. Reasonable efforts will be made to ensure that all information, including personal information provided by participants or collected from them, is stored securely. Use and Processing of Personal Information
Participants agree to provide Pepkor with accurate and current information and to update such information when necessary.
Information collected by Pepkor may be used to send participants information about products, services and special offers from companies within the Pepkor group that may be of interest or value to them.
Personal information may also be processed by Ackermans and other companies within the Pepkor group, as well as their operators, agents and subcontractors, who may be located outside South Africa, provided that such information is kept confidential.

Voluntary Provision of Information
Participants acknowledge that any information supplied to Ackermans or the Pepkor group of companies in connection with these Terms and Conditions is provided voluntarily.

Consent to Processing of Personal Information
By submitting information to Ackermans or the Pepkor group of companies, participants acknowledge and consent to the processing of their personal information in accordance with applicable law and the purposes described in these Terms and Conditions.
Such consent will remain in effect for the period permitted by applicable law, subject to any applicable rights to withdraw consent or object to processing.

Disclosure of Personal Information
Unless participants have consented or disclosure is otherwise permitted or required by law, Ackermans and the Pepkor group of companies will not sell, exchange, transfer, rent or otherwise make participants’ personal information, including their names, addresses, email addresses or telephone numbers, available to third parties.

Personal Information Complaints
If participants believe that Ackermans or the Pepkor group of companies has used their personal information contrary to applicable law, they should first raise their concerns with Ackermans or the relevant Pepkor group company.
If the matter remains unresolved, participants have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

Direct Marketing Preferences
Participants may opt out of direct marketing by notifying Ackermans in writing or by registering a block on any registry that Ackermans is legally required to recognise.
Ackermans will not charge a fee to update participants’ marketing preferences and will implement requested changes as soon as reasonably possible.
