Ackermans Grandparents Day 2025 Competition
Terms and Conditions
- The promoter of the Competition is Ackermans, a division of Pepkor Trading (Pty) Ltd ("the Promoter").
- The name of the competition is the Ackermans Grandparents Day 2025 Competition ("the Competition").
- The Competition will run from 24 July 2025 to 03 August 2025, both days included ("the Competition Period").
- By entering the Competition and/or accepting the prize (if you are a winner), you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
- The prize is an Ackermans wardrobe makeover to the value of R5,000, in the form of a R5,000 Ackermans voucher, which will be sent via SMS to the winner’s valid South African mobile number. The voucher may only be used in-store and can be redeemed against clothing, shoes and accessories available at Ackermans. The prize is subject to the standard Ackermans voucher terms and conditions.
- The Competition is open to all participants within the Republic of South Africa that are aged 18 or older, South African citizens (in possession of a valid South African ID book or card) and South African residents (in possession of a valid South African permanent residency permit).
- For this Competition, a “grandparent” includes a maternal or paternal grandparent, or any grandparent figure who plays a meaningful role in the nominee’s life. Nominees must also be South African residents. You are not eligible to participate in this Competition if: -
a. You are a director, member, partner, employee, agent or its affiliates/divisions/subsidiaries or any other person who supplies goods or services in connection with the Competition.
b. You are a spouse, life partner, parent, child or sibling, immediate family member, business partner or associate of the persons specified above.
- The person nominating does not win the prize; the grandparent nominated wins the Prize.
- To enter, participants must do the following during the Competition Period:
a. Nominate a grandparent by telling us one funny or quirky story about them in the comments section of the Competition post on Ackermans’ official Facebook or Instagram pages.
b. Tag a friend in your comment.
c. Share the Competition post to your Instagram or Facebook stories and tag @ackermans_za for a bonus entry.
- Entry into the Competition is free, and participants may enter only once during the Competition Period.
- Entries submitted on behalf of someone else, or using false or misleading information, may be disqualified. No entries generated by automated means will be accepted.
- The winner will be selected by random draw on 04 August 2025, from all valid entries received during the Competition Period.
- The nominator will be contacted to confirm their nominee's details, including a valid South African mobile number. These details will be used only for the purposes of fulfilling the Prize.
- If the winner cannot be reached within 2 (two) days of the draw, or if the required nominee details are not provided, an alternative winner may be selected.
- The winner will receive the R5,000 Ackermans voucher via SMS. It is the responsibility of the nominator to ensure the correct nominee details are submitted upon request. The Prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
- By accepting the Prize, the winner gives Ackermans and its authorised agents permission to use their name in public announcements, marketing materials and digital platforms, unless they explicitly opt out.
- Ackermans will take all reasonable steps to protect your personal information. By entering, you acknowledge and agree to our Privacy Policy and give consent to the use of your personal data for the purposes of administering the Competition and related communications.
- The personal information collected during this Competition will not be used for any purpose other than administering the Competition, unless you opt in to receive future marketing communications from Ackermans.
- You may opt out of any direct marketing communications at any time by informing Ackermans in writing or following the opt-out instructions in our communications. We will action your request as soon as reasonably possible.
- Ackermans reserves the right to suspend, vary or cancel this Competition at any time for any reason, without prior notice. In such an event, no liability shall lie against Ackermans or any third-party service providers.
