We’re on the Hunt for #MyAckermansBaby2024

Think your baby could be our next star? The search for our next Ackermans Baby of the Year is on, and we’re giving your little one the chance to model and win vouchers for a whole year! 

How to enter: 

• Dress your baby in their cutest Ackermans outfit. Whether it’s a sweet summer dress or an adorable romper, let their style shine. 

• Capture their personality with a pic or video and share it on Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok. 

• Tag Ackermans and use the hashtag #MyAckermansBaby2024. Make sure you’re following us on social media to stay updated. 

Babies must be between 0-36 months to enter. 
 
If you’re not a parent but know someone who is, be sure to share this with them.

1. The promoter of the Competition is Ackermans, a division of Pepkor Trading (Pty) Ltd (“the Promoter”).
2. The name of the Competition is the “Ackermans Baby Of The Year 2024” competition (“the Competition”).
3. The Competition will run from 2 October 2024 to 31 October 2024, both days included (“the Competition Period”).
4. By entering the Competition and/or accepting any prize (if you are a winner), you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
5. The Competition prize is a chance to model for Ackermans; and
   1. R1000 Ackermans voucher per month for 12 months;
   2. A toiletry hamper to the value of R1000; and
   3. A pram worth R3000 OR a character hamper to the value of R3000. (“the Prize”).
6. The Competition is open to all participants within the Republic of South Africa, Botswana, Eswatini, Namibia and Lesotho that are citizens (in possession of a valid ID book or card) and residents (in possession of a valid permanent residency permit). You are not eligible to participate in this Competition if: –
   1. You are a director, member, partner, employee, agent or its affiliates/divisions/subsidiaries or any other person who supplies goods or services in connection with the Competition.
   2. You are a spouse, life partner, parent, child or sibling, immediate family member, business partner or associate of the persons specified above .
7. To enter the Competition and stand a chance to win, participants will need to:
   1. Upload a clear, good quality pic or video of your baby in Ackermans clothing that shows their unique personality on their Facebook, Instagram or TikTok account.
   2. Use #MyAckermansBaby2024 in the caption.
   3. Tag @Ackermans and follow Ackermans
8. The Competition entrant agrees that to be considered for participation in the Competition, and/or as the parent/legal guardian of any minor(s) included in any photographs and recordings for purposes of the Competition, they hereby grant the following rights and permissions to the Promoter, its representatives, and assignees, those for whom the Promoter is acting, and those acting with its authority and permission, to:
   1. Process the personal information and/or special personal information and/or information (“the information”) in media, internal use by the Promoter, point of sale, all forms of print, corporate advertising, for all types of internal or external non-commercial communications such as for instance but not only, the Ackermans website terms and conditions, annual report and press pack under the terms and conditions of this Competition, and such usage shall not give rise to remuneration.
   2. Process the information of the participant, family members and/or the minor(s) in which they may be included in whole or in part, without restriction as to changes or alterations from time to time, made through any medium at a studio or elsewhere, and in any and all media now or hereafter known, including but not limited to the internet, advertising, or any other purpose whatsoever. The participant consents to the use of any published matter in conjunction with such photographs.
   3. The participant acknowledges that in processing of the information they hereby release and indemnify Ackermans, its affiliates and subsidiaries and/or its respective agents, directors, officers, shareholders, employees, representatives and all persons acting on their behalf from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, costs, expenses or other liabilities that may arise from any and all injuries that the participant and/or any minor(s) may sustain as a direct, indirect or consequential result of the use of the information.
   4. If any minor(s) are included in whole or in part in the information, the participant hereby warrants that they are a legally competent adult and a parent or legally appointed guardian of the minor(s), and that they have the necessary capacity to contract for the minor(s) for the purpose of entering the Competition. Furthermore, the participant warrants that they have read clause 8 and are familiar with the contents and hereby consent to the release, which shall be binding on the participant and/or minor(s) and their respective heirs, representatives and assignees.
9. All minors being entered into the competition must be fully dressed to be a valid Competition entry. All entries that do not adhere to this will be disqualified and the entry will be deleted.
10. All minors must not be older than 36 months by the end of the competition.
11. Entry into the competition is free and participants may enter only once on all 3 platforms during the Competition Period, and entrants are only eligible to win one (1) prize.
12. Ackermans reserves the right to disqualify any user who enters using false information by robotic, automated or like means.
13. All prizes in this Competition are not transferable or exchangeable for cash.
14. The prize will be delivered to the winners, using the delivery address received from them when contacted to confirm they have won.
15. The selection for the winner will take place on 15 November 2024. The winner will be chosen randomly bfrom all the valid entries received via the entry channel.
16. Winners will be contacted between 10am and 3pm on the day of the draw to arrange for delivery.
17. The winner will be announced on the date of the draw. An alternative winner will be selected if after 2 days from the date of draw if a winner is unreachable.
18. Winners give Ackermans and its authorized agents consent to use their names for publicity purposes, unless refused.
19. Ackermans reserves the right to vary, suspend, postpone, or terminate the competition and any prizes, or any aspect thereof, for any reasons whatsoever and without notice. In such event, you hereby waive any rights or expectations which you may have against Ackermans and acknowledge that you will not have any recourse or claim of any nature against Ackermans.
20. Your privacy is very important to Ackermans and the Pepkor group of companies (https://www.pepkor.co.za/retail-segments/) and it will use all reasonable efforts to ensure that any information, including personal information and/or special personal information provided by you in respect to any minor(s) that may be included in whole or part in any materials produced, , or which is collected from you, is stored in a secure manner. 21. You agree to provide Pepkor with accurate and current information and to maintain and update such information when necessary. The information collected by Pepkor may be used to send you information about products, services, and special offers of the various companies in the Pepkor group that may be of interest or value to you. The information may also be processed by Ackermans and other companies in the Pepkor group, any of their operators, agents, and sub-contractors (who may be outside South Africa) on the condition that they will keep such information confidential.
22. You acknowledge that any information supplied to Ackermans and the Pepkor group of companies in terms of these Terms and Conditions is provided voluntarily.
23. By submitting any information to Ackermans and the Pepkor group of companies in any form you further acknowledge that such conduct constitutes an unconditional, specific and voluntary consent to the processing of such information by Ackermans and the Pepkor group of companies under any applicable law in the manner contemplated above, which consent shall, in the absence of any written objection received from you, be indefinite and/or for the period otherwise required in terms of any applicable law.
24. Unless you have consented, Ackermans and the Pepkor group of companies will not sell, exchange, transfer, rent or otherwise make available any personal information about you (such as name, address, email address, telephone, or fax number) to other parties and you indemnify Ackermans and the Pepkor group of companies from any unintentional disclosures of such information to unauthorized persons.
25. Should you believe that Ackermans and the Pepkor group of companies has utilised your personal information contrary to applicable law, you shall first resolve any concerns with Ackermans and the Pepkor group of companies. If you are not satisfied with such a process, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
26. You can choose to be excluded from direct marketing by notifying Ackermans in writing or by registering a block on any registry which Ackermans is bound by law to recognise. Ackermans will not charge you a fee to update this request on its systems. Ackermans will give effect to any changes requested by you as soon as reasonably possible.
