Summer’s beauty trends are all about convenience and practicality as we ease back into post-lockdown life.
Doing your own hair, skin and make-up is the way to go, especially if you still prefer to stay home more often than not.
Hair
Low maintenance is the key word. Try shorter hairstyles, do-it-yourself (DIY) dye kits and long-lasting styles, such as braids. Play around with extensions and try this classic DIY crown braid using hair extensions from your nearest Ackermans store.
Skin
As the sun comes out, hydrate your skin with moisturiser and protect it with a good sunscreen. Also drink at least eight glasses of water a day to keep skin hydrated and pamper it with DIY treatments like face sheet masks or DIY home masks using fresh ingredients.
Make-up
Wearing make-up and a mask takes a bit of thought. Keep your lips glossy, natural or use a matte lipstick, and remember that with a mask on, brows make the most noticeable statement. Read more on how to do your make-up when wearing a mask.
