Caring for your feet in winter

We’re constantly talking about how to keep your face radiant and hands moisturised, but what about your feet? Feet are so easy to ignore but just because they’re constantly hidden in socks and boots during winter doesn’t mean we shouldn’t look after them.

Here are some tips on how to treat your feet, especially in cold weather:

Soak your feet

Before soaking, wash your feet with soap and water and then soak them in lukewarm water for at least five minutes. To disinfect and eliminate foot odour, you can add vinegar to the water.

Exfoliate

You can use your own exfoliator to soften your soles by mixing course salt, olive oil and a touch of water. You can add brown sugar and oats. Massage the mixture all over your feet and then rinse after a few minutes.

Moisturise

Don’t forget to lotion up your feet after a bath or shower. Use a foot cream after a shower and before going to bed to soften your soles. Wear socks to bed to lock in moisture.

Beauty tip

Dry your feet thoroughly after washing them, especially between the toes, which is where fungal infections such as athlete’s foot can develop.
