Steamed bread in tins

These steamed bread in tins look super-professional, but they so easy to make. Serve them with split-pea and potato stew.

  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • pinch of salt
  • ½ cup of warm water

1 Sift flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and yeast together in a bowl and mix until well combined, slowly adding water until you have a dough.

2 Knead your dough for ten minutes until soft, smooth and elastic.

3 Separate dough into 4 and half fill 4 oiled tins with the dough and cover with cling wrap for an hour or until the dough is protruding out of the tins.

4 Once risen remove the cling wrap and place the tins in a large pot with water, cover and boil for an hour.

5 Insert a toothpick inside the bread until no dough remains on the stick.
